A Beauty Minute

I love Garance Doré. She’s the one I look up to in the blogging world. I have been following her and reading her blogs religiously for a couple of years now. Her blog is the only blog I read.

A few weeks ago she featured in her blog A Beauty Minute with Ellen (I don’t know who Ellen is. She looks like her friend. But then, I am not sure really).

I thought why not do this in my blog? It’s a beauty routine that you do everyday. I don’t think I have done my beauty regimen here in my blog. I like the way Garance presented it. So, here it is.

Morning: Before I jump in the shower I wash my face with Derma e Anti wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser. I have been using this for a couple of months now and I really like it. I like that it’s anti wrinkle and has glycolic in it.

I then jump in the shower. After showering I use Andalou Naturals Floral Toner. I discovered this Rose water toner a few years ago (maybe 2 years). It was talked about a lot in the beauty community and I was intrigued. Sometimes I spray this before or after I do my make up.

After the toner I apply my eye cream. The eye cream I am currently using is Chanel Sublimage La Crème Yeux. I have been using this for over a year now. Chanel’s Sublimage range is good. It’s a little pricey but it is worth it.

After applying my eye creme, next in line is my facial serum. The one I am using now is Frezy Derm Revitalizing Serum. If you remember a few posts ago I mentioned that my Derma gave me some products to try. This is one of the products. I have been using this ever since my Derma gave it to me (a few months ago) and I really like it! It’s very light and it is in gel like form. It blends in my skin seamlessly. It makes my skin so soft and glowy.

Next is my moisturizer. The one I am currently using is Nature Well Coconut Oil Moisturizing Creme. I picked this up in S&R (would you believe). I was very intrigued that it is made purely of coconut oil. That means this is good. I have never come across a moisturizer made of coconut oil. I have been using this for a few months and I like it! I massaged this all over my face. I like the smell (smells like coconut) and although it is in creme form it is very light and not sticky. It blends well on my skin.

After massaging my face with my moisturizer I apply Derma e Anti Wrinkle Vitamin A Retinyl Palmitate Créme. I also massage this on my face.

Then I apply Anadalou Naturals Hyaluronic Acid DMAE Lift & Firm Creme. Among all the organic cremes that I have been using I’ve used this the longest. For mature skin (like mine) I need a good dosage of Hyaluronic Acid on my skin.

After everything sits in I apply Frezy Derm Sun Screen. This is also one of the products that my Derma told me to try. Like my facial serum this is also in gel like form. I use this also as a face primer.

Now, my face is ready for make up.

Day: when I go out to run some errands, or go to a business meeting, or having lunch with my friends I usually carry in my bag a mirror and facial wipes. These are the 2 most important items that I have to have with me when I go out. Mirror because I have to check my face for smudges through out the day and wipes so I can wipe any smudges (if there’s any).

Night: cleaning my face at night is one routine I will never miss no matter how tired I am. I enjoy cleaning my face at night. The removing of my make up and the cleaning per se.

The first thing I do is remove my make up. I use Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. I use about 2 to 3 pumps and I massage it all over my face. I massage it at least 5 minutes making sure all make up has been removed (especially my eyes). If I feel that my make up is already displace I splash a little water all over my face and massage it again.

Then I get Neutrogena Make up Remover Cleansing Wipes making sure all make up has been removed. And again I use Derma e Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser to thoroughly clean my face.

When my face is already sparkling clean I apply again Andalou Naturals Floral Toner. I spray it on a round cotton pad and wipe it on my face.

When I’m done with my toner I apply my eye creme Chanel Sublimage La Créme Yeux. I’m very fond of facial oils and the one I’m using every night is Aura Cacia Rosehip Oil. I have been using Rosehip oil for more than a year already. After applying the oil I hydrate my face again with Nature Well Coconut Oil Moisturizing Creme.

Then I apply Nature Well Retinol Advanced Moisture Creme. Like the Coconut Oil moisturizing creme I picked this up in S&R (just to try). I really can’t say much about this yet ’cause I have been using this for a few weeks only.

At this point I am ready to call it a night.
