Ruffles and Highlights

I wore this top yesterday (I got it when we went to Tokyo a few months ago) and everyone liked it. It’s the first time I’ve worn it ‘cos I completely forgot that it existed. I saw it when I was clearing my closet over the week end (still with the tag).

I’ve always loved ruffles. I find ruffles girly and at the same time very womanly. I like this top so much that I bought it in 2 colors (the other color is in mauve/blush pink).

I had lunch with Roxanne yesterday and I wore this (Roxanne loved it too)!

Here it is

Aside from my top my friends asked me what highlighter I used. I guess it’s about time to blog about my highlighter collection. My favorite make up are bronzers and highlighters. You can just imagined how much bronzers and highlighters I have. I have a drawer full of bronzers and highlighters.

I always use highlighter every time I go out. Sometimes when I’m in a hurry I just apply concealer and highlighter. Highlighter really makes a big difference. It makes you look glowy and dewy, it brightens your face and you look fresh. In short you look beautiful even if you feel tired and shitty.

My highlighter collection is a mixture of high end and drug store brands. You’ll be surprised some of my favorite highlighters are drug store brands.

Let’s start with the very first highlighter that I bought way back in early 2000. It’s by MAC which I bought in Hongkong. The sales assistant talked me into buying it. I ended up buying 2 right away. I still have the other one which I have not use until now. I think MAC has discontinued this already.

I didn’t know how to use it in the beginning and I would highlight my face to death. To the point that Vito told me one time: “Mom, you look like a showgirl.”

MAC Iridescent Powder in Belightful

Drugstore Brand (In no particular order)

Sleek Highlighting Palette in Precious Metals.

This is one of my favorites. It’s so pigmented and last the whole day. This come in two shades. The other shade is Solstice. I’ve heard good reviews of Solstice. And most beauty gurus that I follow like Solstice more than Precious Metals. I wanted to get Solstice also but it’s always out of stock. But it’s okay ‘cos I like Precious Metals.

Topshop Highlighter in Crescent Moon

I heard about how good this highlighter is from Claire in Hey Claire (her Youtube channel). She’s a famous YouTube beauty guru. She raved about this highlighter when it came out.

Our Topshop here in Manila does not carry beauty products. I think their beauty products is only available in London. So, I asked my friend Marivic (she’s based in London) to get for me. You can see that I’ve used this a lot!

L’Oreal’s True Match range is very good. That’s why when Maritess sent me this I knew right away that I will like it.

Aside from this is a good liquid highlighter I also like the packaging. I love the rose gold cap.

NYX  Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator

Like Revlon’s Face Illuminator you can mix this with your foundation. I sometimes mix it for a more glowy look or I use it on it’s own. I usually apply it on top of my cheek bones, at the tip of my nose, on my chin, on my forehead and on my cupid’s bow.

The shades in this palette are: Dim Light, Incandescent light, Radiant Light. I don’t have to say much about this palette. This is one of the very best highlighting palettes.
