The cameras I use

One of the things that I have learned from my good friend Cecile aka Chuvaness (on how to be a good blogger) is you have to have nice pictures.

Well, aside from a good content, of course. But the most important thing is you have to have really good quality pictures.

I took it by heart and invested on good cameras.

When I started blogging way back in early 2000 the camera I used was Sony Mavica. The type were you use floppy discs and it looks like this.

I’ve had several cameras after that and these are the ones I am currently using now:

I am not a techy person so I learn everything from scratch. Even up to now I only know how to use my cameras up to a certain extent.

Through the years I’ve learn how to take good photos. I’m not really good at it yet but at least I am so much better now compared before. Since I don’t have studio lights I always shoot outside for good natural light.

I make it a point that I shoot between 9:00 am – 12:00nn. A lot of people asked me why I always shoot in one place only. That is because I get a good natural light in that area. The area I am talking about is in our lanai.

Our lanai doesn’t get direct sunlight. I never shoot in direct sunlight because I get shadow on your face.

Our lanai gets the morning sun so, I shoot facing the light not against it.

I taught Joshua (driver) how to use my cameras and by now he already know my best angle. I always tell him, “shoot ka lang dyn ako ng bahala dito.”

In the beginning we used to argue a lot every time we shoot. But now he’s so good at it already and it usually take us not more than 15 minutes to do my ootd.

Most of the time I use my Canon 5D Mark 11. I love this camera and I have been using this for a long time already. The only thing I don’t like with this camera is it’s so heavy.

My next favorite is my Canon 7D. I’ve had this for 2 years already. I like this ‘cos it is very light so this is the camera I bring when I travel. This is what I use when I shoot my jewelries and my hauls.

I only have 1 Nikon and I rarely use it. Nikon 6D. I really don’t like Nikon only because I have a hard time using it. A lot of my friends who are camera savvy always tell me Nikon is better than Canon but there’s just something about Nikon I don’t understand. Maybe one day when I have time I will study this camera better.

When I go out I bring my small cameras. I only have 2 small cameras that I use. Canon S100. Actually, this is Claudia’s but she didn’t want it anymore, so I took it and I have been using this.

My next small camera is Leica D-Lux 6.  This is not mine also, this is TB’s. He’s not using it anymore so I took it. The size of this camera is so alanganin. It’s too big to carry around in my purse. But small enough to use for my ootd. So, I use this sometimes when I shoot my hauls and jewelries inside my room. But I heard this is a good camera.

These are my cameras that I use. One day I will study each one of them so I can really take good photos.

The sun came out this morning and decided to shoot my ootd.
