Van City – Day 2

May 31, 2016

Claudia woke up so early ’cause she booked a 6:00am spinning class. I was still asleep when she left. I woke up so many times during the night and woke up past 8:00am already.

I was excited for today. I was meeting my cousin (who lives in Victoria) and my niece Danika (my brother Chris’ daughter who also studies in UBC) for lunch.

I haven’t seen Inday (my cousin) in a long time. Maybe 30 years. We practically grew up together. Her Mom and my Mom are sisters and our families hang out a lot when we were kids. She lives in Victoria and she’s coming to see me in Vancouver.

I was already getting ready when Claudia came back from spinning class. Vinny called me early and wanted to have breakfast.

I was surprised when we got out of the hotel. It was cold. When we arrived yesterday the weather was so nice, in the 20’s. But today was sunny but cold.

We walked to this breakfast place just across our hotel called Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie Cafe. They are known for their chocolate drinks, macaroons and pastries. Suppose to be the best in Vancouver.

I asked Vinny to take our picture of me and Claudia on our way to Thierry.

After breakfast we went back to the hotel and waited for my cousin. Apparently she took the 7:00am ferry from Victoria.

She got to our hotel a little past 10:00am and I was so happy to see her again!

We chatted for awhile but we left right away ’cause Claudia wanted to go shopping already. This is our only official shopping day.

Vancouver doesn’t have malls. The stores are boutique style. They’re all lined up in Robson st. and Granville area just beside our hotel. So, we walked in the cold.

Our first stop was Lululemon. It was in the corner of our hotel, just a 2 minute walk. Inday and I sat down inside Lululemon and left Claudia going crazy shopping.

Then we went to a local brand store Aritzia. It’s like Zara. The price point is like Zara, too.

It was 3 stores linked together. Claudia loved it there and went crazy.

Danika called us and told me she was already on her way to downtown from UBC. So, I told her to meet us in Sephora in Robson street. I was so excited to see her.

After Aritzia we walked to Robson st. which was just very near. Just around the corner.

When we saw Sephora my cousin told me, ayan na ang simbahan mo! Claudia and me separated right away the minute we got inside Sephora. My cousin said go ahead I’ll just sit down.

So, I went around Sephora and realized that I basically have everything that I want already. I mean come on my room is like a mini Sephora, ULTA and CVS rolled into one. Claudia was busy looking for a brown lipstick.

My niece Danika arrived a few minutes after and pandemonium broke! This girl can talk. We had so much fun inside Sephora. This is what I call girls day out.

Vinny in the meantime kept on texting me saying he was already hungry and to meet us for lunch.

Inspite the chaos in Sephora I manage to put a few stuff in my basket (Claudia went back to Sephora the next day with her friends).

Too Faced Sweethearts Bronzer

I already have the Too Faced Sweethearts Blush but not the bronzer

Beauty Blender minis and regular size

I never go out of Sephora without picking up Beauty Blenders

Caudalìe Miscellar Cleansing Water

only because I forgot to bring my Bioderma Miscellar cleansing water

BITE Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Spritzer

I love BITE Beauty lipsticks. It’s made of natural and organic ingredients. This is very moisturizing and minty. I don’t have their mauvy shade yet. And I only found out that this is made in Canada.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick

all nude shades were out of stock. It’s okay ’cause I love this shade.

We ran out of Sephora and meet Vinny for lunch in The Market at Shangrila Hotel. Miko Inday’s son who works in downtown Vancouver met us there, too. Vito followed a few minutes after.

one of the highlights of my trip

After lunch Claudia, Vinny, and Vito were meeting up with Vito’s friends to go around downtown, Miko went back to work and Danika went back to UBC ’cause she had French tutor at 5:00pm.

Inday and me were left alone to go around while waiting for her ferry back to Victoria at 5:00pm.

We went back to Lululemon ’cause Inday wasn’t able to shop when we were there earlier. After Lululemon we went to Nordstrom.

I went straight to Tom Ford when I got to Nordstrom. I have been looking for Tom Ford’s new summer scent Soleil Blanc. It was out of stock in Tokyo when I was there last March. I was so happy when I found out they had it in stock.

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Eau De Parfum

Super love this scent. This is me in a bottle.

So, we went around Nordstrom looking for something to buy and killing time. We passed by Kate Spade and I saw really nice Iphone 6+ cases.

And I got this cute Black Onyx stud.

My cousin was running out of time. She needed to catch her train that will bring her to the ferry. I was so sad when she left. I realized how much I missed her. My sisters and I spent our entire childhood with her and her sister Stella.

I know I’ll see her again.

I didn’t want to go back to the hotel ’cause the kids weren’t back yet and I didn’t want to be alone in my room. I was missing my cousin already and I didn’t want to dwell on it.

I cross the street from Nordstrom and I saw Urban Outfitters. So I went in and browsed around.

Almost all clothing stores there have nothing but off the shoulders top and dresses. Na susuka na ako sa off the shoulder trend. Please parang awa nyo na tigilan na. I did not buy a single piece of off the shoulder clothing.

I was so happy that Urban Outfitters carry the famous Australian sunglasses brand Quay. I picked up 2 right away.

I also picked up a beautiful Karen Walker sunglasses.

After Urban Outfitters I decided to go back to our hotel. I was tired already. But I dropped by Shoppers Mart (which was beside our hotel) to look for dry shampoo. Vito’s graduation was the next day and I needed to make my hair look decent.

Such luck! They had Klorane. I picked up 2 cans.

Klorane Dry Shampoo

And I also found my favorite facial spray.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water

When I got to my room I was dead tired. I was so sleepy and hungry. I decided to order room service. The kids came back around 7:00pm but they were going on a road trip to Whistler.

After having dinner I watched TV for a few minutes and decided to call it a day.

Day 3 coming… Graduation day

  • Hahaha! Dami kong tawa sa off shoulder tops! Aray ko kaka hoard ko lang. 🙂 🙂
When I was browsing willow jewelry design I noticed you were rocking the off shoulder tops even before Kris A started wearing it all the time.
Ayan huli na kami sa fashion 🙂

  • Ms. T – I’m not sure if you noticed but across Nordstrom we do have a mall. It’s called Pacific Centre 🙂 it also has an Aritzia and Holt Renfrew!

    • Oh yes Vito mentioned Pacific Center. He told me Nordstrom is across Pacific Center. But I didn’t know what Pacific Center was. He didn’t say it was a mall. He probably assumed I know.
Our teip was so quick! For sure I will stay longer next time!
      Thanks Francine! 🌸

    • Hi Christine! But Shopper’s has high end brands. I think London Drugs is more like CVS.
Btw, super love your Instagram pics! 🌸

  • oh I love Too Faced. I hope you bought their Melted lipsticks. Very intense pigmentation and excellent lip primer.

  • I cannot wear off shoulders yet, still waiting for my collar bones to come back. They’ve been missing for awhile lol.
