We landed Vancouver exactly 12:30pm, May 30th. We gained 1 day. When we got out of baggage claim the first face we saw was Vito, smiling from ear to ear. I was so happy to see him again.
We hailed a yellow cab (thats what they call their taxis there, yellow cab) and went straight to our hotel. It took us 15 mins – 20 mins to get to downtown Vancouver.
After checking in the kids wanted to have lunch. I wasn’t particularly hungry at that time but I went with the kids anyway ’cause I didn’t want to lounge around my room ’cause I might fall asleep. I wanted to adjust to the time zone right away.
Vito said I know where to bring you. Let’s go to Flying Pig, it’s in Gastown. It’s a 15 minute walk. And I said okay, let’s go.
I was so happy to see them all together. At last the 3 of them in one place and not scattered all over the globe. It’s so difficult now a days to get them all together.
We started walking. Walking, walking, & walking. We were all complaining to Vito how far it is really ’cause sa tancha ko lang more than 15 minutes na kaming nag walk. And he said it’s just there. Yung it’s just there mo ang layo ha. Hindi ako sanay wala si Joshua.
So, finally we got to The Flying Pig.
We were so tired from that ‘just there’ walk ni Vito. Remember we were fresh from a 10 hour flight and we were all tired. Where is Joshua when you need him?
The kids ordered and I ordered baked mushrooms since I wasn’t hungry and I wanted something light. While waiting for our food picture muna.
It was so nice to have a meal with all of them together. I was so much in awe listening to them talk like adults already. This is something I will cherish for the rest of my life.
After lunch we looked for money exchange. We didn’t have any Canadian dollars with us. Just US dollars. We walked a block and saw a money changer. Across the money changer was London Drug (their version of CVS). After changing money we all went there. First thing Claudia and I normally do when we’re abroad is go to the grocery.
While Claudia was checking out their food I went straight to the make up section. While the boys were just standing outside waiting for us.
I only wanted to check out one drugstore brand, L’Oreal. Altho’ they have other drugstore brands like Rimmel London, Maybelline, Revlon, Cover Girl, Physicians Formula, etc.
I was hoping they would have the full range of L’Oreal. But they didn’t. I was still able to picked up a few of L’Oreal products that I like that’s not available here in Manila.
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara
This is the first item I picked up. I heard good reviews on this and I have been wanting to get hold of this mascara. So, when I saw it, it went straight to my basket.
L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper
I first discovered this last December when I saw it in Singapore Duty Free shop. I was curious and decided to give it a try. I love this. This is the only eyebrow gel that works for me.
L’Oreal True Match LUMI Liquid Glow Illuminator
I haven’t tried this yet but I am sure this is good. I love L’Oreal’s True Match range.
L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in 997Eternal Sunshine
I have a few shades of L’Oreal’s Infallible eye shadows and I love it. It is buttery, blends well and very pigmented. I don’t have this shade it, so I picked it up.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
This is one of my favorite concealers. I don’t think this is available here in Manila. I have a few tubes in stock but I decided to pick this up because this is the large tube. I didn’t know that Maybelline came out with this size.
Maybelline Master Conceal
I have never tried this yet but I have heard good reviews on this. One of Maybelline’s best seller concealers.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
I have a tube of this that I got in CVS (Longs Drug) last time I was in Honolulu. And I love it! This is a good dupe of NARS Creamy concealer.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon
I didn’t know that Maybelline came out with their Color Tattoo in a crayon. What I have is their Color Tattoo in a tub. So, I picked my favorite shade of their Color Tattoo the 705 Pink Parfait. I ended up using this during my entire trip ’cause this was so easy to use.
Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls
This is the only item I picked up in Physicians Formula. I have all their bronzers already and most of their blushes. I was intrigued with this illuminator ’cause it looks like they copied Chanel’s latest illuminating powder.
I tried to swatch it and I was shocked ’cause it is so pigmented.
I have hope on this.
Quo Cosmetic Applicators
Everytime I’m abroad I never fail to pick up these. I find it so convenient and easy when I am cleaning up any mistakes while applying my make up.
Claudia and me met up in the cashier and you can see how different we are. Everything I have in my basket where all make up and a few bag of chips. While Claudia’s cart was full of healthy food, energy bars, etc.. Altho’ we both agreed to get 2 boxes of ZQuil capsules that we know we will need in the next coming nights.
We ended up walking back to our hotel again. And this time we enjoyed the walk. In reality I think the best way to know the place is when you walk.
We got to the hotel a little past 4pm already. Vito’s friends were picking them up and bring them around. I left the kids alone to enjoy Van City on their own with Vitos’ friends.
I finally got settled in our room. Took a long bath and fell asleep just before 6:00 pm.
Day 2 tomorrow…
