Summer make up – 2016

It’s time to bring out my summer make up.

When it’s so hot (30’s) and humid I cut down on using make up. I use minimal make up as I can to avoid looking cakey and to avoid crease all over my face.

Let’s face it, when it’s hot and humid 1/2 of our make up melts the minute we leave our house. And I hate the feeling of make up melting. It feels sticky and dirty.

These are the products I have been using since the onset of summer.

L’Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusion Primer

The face primer I use. I apply this before applying my foundation.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua

I use the lightest foundation I have and that is Chanel Vitalumière Aqua. I like this ’cause this is water base and very, very light. Medium to light coverage and has spf 15. I use shade 30 Beige. This is very light you can hardly feel that you have foundation on. For me this is the best foundation to use when it is hot & humid.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer & Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Since I am using a light coverage foundation I need to use a heavy coverage concealer to cover my dark spots and some blemishes. The concealer I like to use  is NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Ginger. It’s thick enough to cover any blemishes and dark spots. To brighten my under eyes I use Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick

For my eye shadow I use Bobbi Brown Long-wear Cream Shadow Stick in Sand Dune. I use eye shadow stick during hot months. Because, first it’s cream and most likely won’t cake when you sweat. Second, it’s easy to apply therefore it saves you time.

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette and Catrice Long Lasting Eye Pencil Waterproof

After applying the eye shadow stick and since it is very light I emphasize my eyes. I use Catrice Long lasting Eye Pencil Waterproof in 050 Brown Tawn Girl to tight line my upper lash line. And I use the black shade in Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour palette to set my Catrice eyeliner to make it look smokey.

IT Cosmetics Brow Definer and L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper

For my eyebrows I only use eyebrow pencil and I stay away from powder. I use my IT Cosmetics Brow Definer and L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper.

Essence Lash Base and Essence I Like Long Lashes

This is my latest find in Watson’s! I love this combination. I never used to use lash base religiously before. But when I discovered the lash base of Essence and saw the difference I now use it all the time. In fact I went back to Watson’s and bought more. Unluckily they only had 2 pieces left so, I bought their last 2 pieces. I like it because it makes my eye lashes long (I am not bless with eye lashes). Another thing, when removing my mascara at night the lash base helps breaks the mascara better and it makes it easier everytime I clean my face.

I also love Essence ‘I Like Long Lashes Mascara’. I have been using this ever since I discovered this. I like the wand, it’s thin and easier to apply. And it does make my eye lashes longer.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I use this to warm my face and to contour.

Flormar Terracotta Blush on

I have been crazy with Flormar’s blushes lately. I have been using this shade a lot and sometimes I use this as an eye shadow. During summer time I’m cutting on products to use and cutting time on the whole process of applying make up I love using this since I use it for blush on and highlighter as well.

NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick

For lipstick I am loving NYX Lingerie lipstick in the shade Lace Detail. It’s what they call your lips but better.

So, these are just the products I use during summer when I sweat profusely the entire day. It’s quick and easy and doesn’t require too much work.

And here is my finish face

This is what I wore yesterday when I went to my goldsmith to give him our orders for this week and to follow up some orders that I left behind when I went to Tokyo. It took me an hour and a half to get to the shop because of heavy traffic in South super highway.

  • Your blog really inspired me to be more creative with my make-up. Before, my makeup just consisted of foundation then lipstick. I have eyelash extensions so that is as far as I go in glamming up my eyes. I was so scared of trying other brands too!!! Now I can’t do grocery shopping without picking up something from L’oreal. Sephora is so near the clinic so I’ve become a regular there, they greet me by name.
Makeup is a long time coming hobby of mine now. I don’t know why it took me so long to discover how exciting it is. Maybe because I’ve always been in a hurry…Anyway, thank you for showing me that there are other brands that are as good and as my trusted Chanel and Clinique. Keep blogging!!!

    • That’s really nice Ammie! I’m glad you’re discovering the wonders of make up. There’s really a lot of good products out there. L’Oreal is one of my favorite drug store brands!
I love Sephora just as much as I love ULTA, CVS, Target, etc. Basta anywhere where there’s make up.
I’m a true blue make up addict!

  • “This is what I wore yesterday when I went to my goldsmith…”
    – By the way, is your goldsmith still in a scary place in Manila? I’m worried about your safety — unless you’re barkada na with the tambays there, if ever. Also, I might try the Essence lash base 🙂

    • Yes, still the same place. My driver know already the people around there and I go straight to the shop right away when I get off the car.
Thanks for thinking about me 🙂
You should try the Essence lash base. Another life saver. It’s so cheap pa. P200+ only! How can you go wrong? It’s no longer available in SM Makati Watson’s. Out of stock. But I told them to re stock. Try getting it in Mega Mall Watson’s it could still be available.
Let me know if you’re not able to get it. I’ll give you one. I have 2 in stock.

      • Please, please be careful — it’s good that your driver is streetsmart. Joshua doesn’t look intimidating kasi (if you’re referring to Joshua), hahaha!
Nakakahiya naman about the Essence lash base…no worries, I’m sure they’d be restocked when I get that rare chance to go malling. Thank you so much 🙂

    • I don’t know the brand. I bought it in Daimaru (dept. store). I think it’s their brand. The other bag (black) is Givenchy Antigona
