I used a combination of high end and drugstore brands on my look today. I was excited to use my ColourPop and some drugstore brands I picked up recently.
If you want to know how I achieved this look then keep on reading.
These are the products that I used:
Let’s start with face products.
After doing my ritual (face serum, moisturizer, eye cream) the first thing that I put on my face is sun screen. For sun screen this is what I use.
Andalou Naturals DIY Booster SPF 30 Facial Serum
I apply this all over my face and my neck (never forget the neck). I wait for a few minutes for it to settle and the I apply face primer. The face primer I have been using now is:
Elf Poreless Primer
I have used different kinds of primers. High end and drug store brands but I always go back to Elf’s face primer. My face love this product. It makes my face feels so smooth and soft and it makes my foundation, bronzer and blush easy to blend. Aside from that it makes my make up last longer. This is my favorite face primer and it is so cheap. I think this is only P200+ at Watson’s.
After applying face primer I put on my foundation. The foundation I am using these days is:
Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation in Vanilla Beige
This is medium coverage and dries dewy. Laura Mercier has really good foundations and this is the one I like the best.
After buffing my foundation it’s time to conceal. The concealer that I used is:
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger
One of my favorite concealers. I have a lot to conceal ’cause I have a lot of pigmentation and blemishes. I apply this also under my eyes and inner corner of my eyes.
On to another concealer but this time it’s for brightening. For brightening concealer I am using this:
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
I apply this under my eyes, on top of my nose, on my chin and on my forehead. Mostly the highest points of my face where the light hits.
I like this. It’s creamy, easy to blend and the most important thing is it doesn’t crease.
After concealing my face I set under my eyes and my T zone. I don’t normally set my whole face ’cause I want my face to look dewy.
The setting powder I use is:
Ben Nye Translucent Powder
I’ve had this for a long time already and has remained to be my favorite setting powder. This is very light and finely milled powder and it makes my face look air brushed. I use this also to bake. For me this is the best setting powder.
After setting my face I apply this to make my face look radiant and luminous:
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
I usually combine the middle which is incandescent light and the right side which is radiant light. Love this.
So, now that I look radiant and luminous it’s time to put color on my face. It’s bronzing time, my favorite part.
The bronzer I am using now is:
Hourglass Ambient Radiant Bronze Light
I apply this on my cheek bones, on my temples, on top of my forehead and my jawline. I apply this with light hand so it won’t look heavy on me. Sometimes I get carried away and over bronzed myself!
After bronzing I contour. For contouring I am using this:
Hoola Bronzer by Benefit
I usually contour the hollows of my cheeks and my nose. Just very lightly to give definition to my face and my nose.
Blush. The blush I’m using now is:
Flormar Terracotta Blush On
Can we just take a few seconds and admire the beauty of this? I think I have mentioned to you before that Flormar has good baked blushes and baked eye shadows. This is the one I am talking about! Isn’t it so beautiful. Oh, god, I can’t get over how beautiful this is. I can spend the entire day just looking at this!
If I use this I normally don’t put highlighter anymore. This is enough to highlight my face.
Now that face is done, let’s go to eyes!
Today I did not use eye primer ’cause I put concealer on my eyelids. Actually, I forgot to put primer. Good thing I put concealer on my eyelids. Every time I set my under eyes I also set my eyelids. For the same reason that it makes my eyeshadows easier to blend.
The first product that I applied on my eyes is this:
ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Weenie
I applied this all over my eyelids. I have hooded eyes so I applied a little past the fold of my eyes. I used my ring finger to apply it so I can control it better. After applying I used blending brush and blended it all the way to my crease area. Give time to blend so your eye shadow will look seamless.
After applying my eye shadow I contoured my eyes. Like I said I have hooded eyes so I need to contour to open up my eyes and to lift it a little. For eye contouring I used this:
Flormar Matte Terracotta Eyeshadow
Yes, another Flormar product! I’ve had this for 2 years already and I really love this. One thing with Flormar products it doesn’t have a shade name.
I usually reach for this when I need matte eye shadows.
I used the light brown as my transition shade. I apply it on my crease area using a fluffy blending brush. From the outer area to the inner area of my eyes in wind shield wiping motion. I take time to blend to avoid harsh lines.
After applying my transition shade I apply the darker brown on the 3/4th area of my crease using a flat brush for precise application. Then I build it up until I reach my desired shade. After that I blend again. Blend, blend, blend. That’s the secret.
Then I repeat the same process on my lower lash line.
When I am already satisfied with my eye shadow I apply my eyeliner. The eyeliner I am using now is Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner. I usually do a cat eye flick to lift my eyes a little. Then after applying my eye liner I apply a nude eyeliner, NYX Wonder Pencil in the shade WP03 Dark/ Fonce, on my lower lash line to open my eyes.
Then I attack my eyebrows! The first thing I do is brush my eyebrows with a spoolie then line it with an eyebrow pencil. The eyebrow pencil I am using now is an old Maybelline Eye brow pencil. The name has already rubbed off. This is one of my favorite eyebrow pencils.
This is what I use to fill in my eye brows:
NYX Eye brow Cake Powder
I’ve had this for a long time already and I just recently used it. I kinda like it. I used the lighter grey one. It comes with a brow wax but I have not tried it yet.
For my eye brows I usually go for ash or grey shades. I hate using brown shades for my eyebrows.
After my eye brows I curl my eye lashes. Before applying mascara I apply lash primer. This is what I use for my lash primer:
Essence Lash Base Mascara
I never put mascara without using lash primer. Why? Because first, it makes my eye lashes longer and second, it makes removing mascara at the end of the day soooo much easier. It helps breakdown my mascara when I am removing it.
For mascara I am using this:
Make Up Forever Smoky Extravagant Mascara
This is a sample that I got in Sephora Honolulu. I had this in my drawer for a long time now and when I was cleaning my make up drawers a few weeks ago I found this.
So, I decided to try it. It’s okay. It’s easy to use and it doesn’t clamp my eye lashes.
After everything I apply my lipstick. The lipstick I used today is:
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in the shade Trap
Love this! It is very light and feels like you don’t have lipstick on. You need to swipe it twice or thrice ’cause it applies light.
So… there you are! My face today. Here are more photos:
