What’s on my face #9 and product reviews

Yesterday I had a chance of using some of the products that I recently hauled. So, I decided to update my ‘What’s on my face’ segment. And I will also review some new products.

These are the products I used yesterday.

Let’s start with face products.

L’Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation

You all know that L’Oreal True Match is one of my favorite foundations. 2 weeks ago I picked up 2 bottles when I found out that it has new packaging. I wanted to know the difference between the old packaging and the new packaging when it comes to the formulation.

In the old formulation my shade is N40. This one in the new packaging I picked up the shade G2 Gold Porcelain. The shade is exactly like my N40. But I noticed that the consistency is different. In the old packaging the consistency is thicker, this one in the new packaging it is more ‘liquidy’. A thinner consistency. But the finish is exactly the same. It is also easy to blend and medium to full coverage. Love it just the same.

Revlon Age Defying Concealer

I have been using this for like a year now (in fact this is my second tube already). I love this concealer. It is thick and very creamy and full coverage. I use this to conceal dark spots and any imperfection on my face. I use this also under my eyes.

This is available locally. I picked this up in Watson’s

Concealer for brightening

Holika Holika Cover & Hiding Liquid Concealer

I’ve had this since last year and this is one of the concealers that I rotate with my other concealers. I specifically use this under my eyes for brightening

This is a Korean brand and I got this in Watson’s

Contour Stick

BYS Contour Stick

This is my third time to use this product. It’s also one of the products that I hauled recently.

I apply this on my cheek bones, side of my nose, forehead, my temple and under my jawline

My other contour sticks (Clinique Chubby Sculpting Stick and Sonia Kashuk Contour Stick) are both fat sticks. This one is way thinner therefore you get a precise line when you apply it. So, you get a sharp contour. I like this for that. The shade is okay, too. It doesn’t look muddy

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multicolor in Marinière No. 02

I’ve had this ever since Chanel came out with their Les Beiges collection. Love this. It is light and gives you a nice glow.

I apply this on the areas where I contoured. And also anywhere on my face where I want to look sun kissed.

Setting Powder

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre. Natural Finish Loose Powder in 20 Clair Translucent

I used this to set my under eye concealer and to set my t zone area. I normally don’t set my entire face (only the t zone area) ’cause I have dry skin and I want to look glowy and dewy.

Stila Convertible Color in Camellia

This is a cream blush. I love using cream blush ’cause it looks natural.

Face Primer

BYS Foundation Primer

This is one of the products that I recently hauled. This is my third time to use this. I apply my face primer before applying my foundation.

When I was at the BYS counter (in Watson’s) I swatched this. And the reason why I picked it up is because it has a cilicone-y finish. Smooth and dry (but hydrating).

So far I like this. My foundation blends seamlessly and it has an air brush look finish.

OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Pasadena

Among all the liquid lipsticks I have tried OFRA liquid lipstick is the best. I haven’t tried the MAC liquid lipstick yet.

I like the color range of OFRA. It dries matte but  moisturizing and doesn’t dry up my lips

Eye Products

Eye Primer

NARS Pro Prime

By the looks of it you can see that this product is well loved. I’ve had this since mid last year and this is one of my eye primers that I rotate.

Actually this is for the face to cover lines and pores but I also use it on my eyes.

Eye Make Up Palette

Morphe Eye Make Up Palette in 12NB

This palette arrived a week ago. I ordered this online. Morphe products is available online and at their store in 616 S. Victory Blvd. Burbank, CA. It’s not available in Sephora, ULTA or any drugstores.

Morphe started with make up brushes until they branch out to make ups. It’s cheap but very good.

This is my second time to use this particular palette (I have 3 other Morphe eye make up palettes and 1 blush palette). And I love it. I love the shades in this palette.

Morphe eye make up is similar to Make Up Geek. It is buttery, pigmented and easy to blend. The color pay off is on point.

Eye Liner

Catrice Smokey Eyes Pencil

I’ve been using this for over a year now. You all know that Catrice is one of my favorite drugstore brands (available in Watson’s).

This is a good dupe for Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Pencil. I like that it has a small brush at the other tip for blending.

This is a soft pencil and very easy to blend.

Eyebrow Gel

L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper

I picked this up in the Duty Free in Changi Airport in Singapore on our way back home from Maldives last December. I forgot to include this in my haul.

This is not available in Manila.

I’ve used this ever since I had this. And I love it. This is better than Maybelline Brow Drama. Only because the brush is smaller. Maybelline’s Brow Drama has a big brush which is harder to use.

Eyebrow Pencil

Eye of Horus Ultimate Brow Define – Nile in Medium/Dark

I have been using this since last year. And the only thing I can say is for me this is better than Anastacia Brow Wiz.

Available in Landmark and Watson’s

Lancome Fatale

Lancome Mascara is one of the best Mascaras in the history of Mascara. That’s all I can say.

Review on the MAC Artist brush:

First week of December, if you remember, I bought some make up brushes in MAC. I think it’s called artist brush (I’m not sure. Please don’t quote me on this). This is how it looks like.

I finally used the bigger brush. I used it as a foundation blush. Altho’ you can use it as blush brush, highlighter brush, etc.

These brushes comes in 3 sizes and the last time I went to MAC (Rustan’s Ayala) they have the 3 sizes in stock already.

And I super love it. I have been using this non stop.

Here’s the finish look.

    • Hi Olive!
I use the Catrice eye pencil on my eyelids as my eyeliner. I also use it to tight line my upper lash line.
Will check out the links. Thanks!
BTW, I love the BYS foundation primer.

  • I LOVE your Birkin! May I ask what size is that? It’s not the typical Birkin size that I see. Can you also do a Bag review or Bag haul? Pretty please 🙂 Much appreciated!! Gong Xi Fa Cai Ms.T!!

  • You truly rock Miss T! I hope to see you one day! I’m a big fan. The make up reviews are as entertaining as they are very informative. Cheers and Kong Xi Fa Cai!

  • Hi ms tina! as always, you look amazing. 🙂 I’m not really a make up person for two reasons: 1. colors overwhelm me and 2. i always end up looking like a panda whenever i try to paint my face. LOL. (level zero skill, I’m afraid!) but since I’m turning 30, i thought it would be nice to learn how to clean up… i just have to say that i really love your look. so polished and effortless. you also inspired me to cut and color my hair. 🙂 from my waist, it now falls just below my shoulder blades. but i’d cut it shorter soon since i’m envious of how chic and flirty your hair!
so, thank you for all your posts. you made me cry and laugh far too many times than i could remember. i’ve always admired your quiet strength, your fierce love for your family and indomitable tenacity since your early blogging days. (you remind me of my mom!)
as with most of your readers, i celebrate your daily adventures, your victories and the hard, bitter yet crucial lessons we all learn in between. cheers! 🙂

    • Hi Mimi!

Your comment is by far one of the best (if not the best. Yet) comment I’ve ever got in my blog life.
Of course all the comments here are all so inspiring and I feel the love of all my readers.

I said yours is one of the best because you noticed my quiet strength and my love for my family.

Re: make up. You don’t have to splatter your face with make up to be beautiful. The most important thing is have a good personal hygiene, good skin care and keep your hair tidy and well kept at all times.

For as long as you look clean and smell fresh. That’s all you need. And a good heart. Everything will shine through!

      Thanks again Mimi!
