Drugstore Haul

No one was home earlier today. The kids were out. Vinny flew to Singapore for the Laneway music festival. Claudia was having lunch with her grandparents and she had plans after lunch.

I didn’t want to be home alone and I also wanted to get out of the house. I called up my sparring partner Roxanne and asked her to have lunch with me. Luckily, she was home and just vegging. yay!

While we were having lunch she told me about her ‘problem’ that she was dealing with as of the moment. She is leaving for the U.S. in 2 weeks and the flat iron for her hair is 220 volts. She needed a 110 volts to use in the U.S. She was na taranta already.

Ang laki ng problema nya.

I told her that we will drop by Watson’s in SM after lunch and look for a 110 volts flat iron for her hair. #firstworldproblems.

We had such a good lunch (Wildflour, Salcedo Village) (yes, again!), talking about life per se.  And I’m glad there is someone I can talk to and be comfortable with. And someone I can trust with my life.

So, we went to Watson’s in SM to look for her 110 volts flat iron for her hair. That was the first thing we looked for when we got there. It took her a long time to choose between Philips or Babyliss. Both are good and both were on sale. While she was choosing and deciding which to get I went around.

And yes, your guess is as good as mine. I picked up a few items. And this is all Roxanne’s fault ’cause it took her a long time to decide. She ended up getting the Philips brand only because the color is pink.

The first counter that I made halungkat was BYS. I like BYS. If you’re lucky you can get a good find.

The first item I put inside my basket were these 2 metallic eye make up palettes.

I swatch it and it’s super metallic and pigmented. Here’s a swatch that I did when I got home. Love it.

I also picked up their gel face primer. I like gel face primer. It has a smooth finish and it makes your make up easier to blend.

I also picked up their contour stick

I went to L’Oreal counter and checked it out. Good news the Infallible Pro Matte foundation will be available here already by June this year. Yay. My other favorite foundation their True Match has a new packaging. I picked up 2 shades because I was not sure if they change the shades in their new packaging. In the old packaging I am N4 Nude Beige. I picked up 62 Gold Porcelain and N3 Nude Vanilla

And guess what? Their eye shadow La Palette Nude is already available here. I don’t know how long it has been here but it is available already.

I picked up both palettes. The La Palette Nude in Beige and La Palette Nude in Rose

Isn’t it so pretty?

I passed by the counter of Catrice. Catrice is one of my favorite drugstore brands.

How cute is this? And the shades looked so nice too.

I was so shocked to see Sleek in Watson’s. I didn’t know that Sleek is available here already. I freaked out. Sleek is a good drugstore brand and I went crazy. I picked up a few palettes.

Sleek is a good brand. I was so confused when I was there ’cause there were a lot to choose from. They had everything from foundations, to highlighters, etc. I am definitely going back to pick up more.

I also picked up a lot of nail polish. I am really into orange, burnt orange and terra cotta shade these days.

    • Our Watson’s here is better than the Watson’s in HK. I remember back in the day every time we go to HK I go crazy in Watson’s. But the Watson’s in HK has changed. I don’t like the items there now. It’s mostly Korean and Japanese. Altho’ I love Korean & Japanese products I just wish they’d carry much more. I mean other products. Not only Korean and Japanese.

I have never been to Watson’s SG.

You’d be surprise our Watson’s here is so amazing. They carry a lot of European drugstore brands and US drugstore brands.

  • HI! Thank you for posting the prices. I am a makeup beginner and your posts make me want to buy my own set. This would help me with my budgeting and choose which is better for me.
I am a silent reader but i have to submit a comment since you’ve been very nice to your readers. Earned a bit of courage today..
    Thanks again!

    • Hi, Kaye! One of the reasons why I post my hauls is because of people like you who are beginners. I post it so you will know what products to buy and what products are good!
Thanks for having the courage to finally comment. If you have any questions about make up just ask me and I’d be happy to help you 🙂

  • Hahahahaha you make me so happy with these “haul” posts. I can feel your kilig finding these stuff. One of these days I can read a post that you have organised a temperature controlled Pantry for all your makeup.

    • It’s because I am so kilig every time I’m in Watson’s! I love going there. Roxanne and I spends so much time making kalikot all the make up!
