My Favorite Beauty Products in 2015

A year in review of my favorite beauty products last year, 2015. I rounded up all of the products that I enjoyed using the whole year.

You all know that I haul a lot and sometimes I don’t do reviews anymore. This post is not only about my favorites but also a review of some products.

Okay, without further adieu, here it is.

Foundation

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua, L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte, L’Oreal True Match

These are my top 3 favorite foundations last year. I use Chanel’s Vita Lumière when I don’t have a tan. I like that it is light weight and has spf. L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Matte and True Match are my favorite drugstore brand foundations. They’re the best. Nice finish, buildable and long wearing.

Bronzer

Chanel Les Beiges Marinière No.02

MAC Give Me Sun Mineralize Skin Finish

I have a lot of bronzers but these 3 I have been using mostly last year.

T. LeClerc is very light and ‘not in your face’ kind of bronzer. It  looks natural.

Chanel Les Beiges Marinière is matte like T. LeClerc. Both doesn’t have shimmers.

MAC’s Give Me Sun bronzer has shimmer. Love this especially if I have a tan ’cause it intensify my color.

Contour

Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Natural 1, Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette

I use Bobbi Brown’s Bronzing Powder to contour. I have the shade Natural 1 and it is dark for me to use as a bronzing powder so I use it to contour.

Kat Von D Contour Palette is one of the best contour palettes that came out last year. The other 2 are Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette and Lorac Contour Palette. I also have Lorac Contour Palette but when Claudia saw it she sequestered it right away. I just gave it to her ’cause I already have the Kat Von D. I never got hold of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette. It was always out of stock.

Contour Stick

Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting and Contour

If I feel like using cream contour this is what I have been reaching for last year. I love the shade, it’s easy to blend and it’s easy to carry when I travel.

Eye Make up Palette

The Balm Matt(e) Nude

Urban Decay Nude Basics

Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour

These 3 palettes are all matte. I love matte eye shadows. But I do reach for shimmers once in awhile. But for my transition shade and my eye corner I use matte.

Matte eye shadows are very important in my make up kit.

The Balm’s Meet Matt(e) Nude is one that I reach for before I had my Kat Von D. I only got my Kat Von D mid this year. I love both palettes

Urban Decay Basic Nudes is what I usually carry with me when I travel. In this palette you have everything you need.

These 3 palettes are super pigmented. It may look like it’s never used because I only put so little. That’s how pigmented it is.

Eye Shadow (Singles)

Top: Chanel Illusion D’ Ombre in 116 Rouge Gorge, MAC Pro Longwear Pot in Stormy Pink, MAC Pro Longwear Pot in Groundwork  |  Bottom: Stila Eye Shadow in Pigalle, MAC Eye Shadow in Sketch

I have been using these eye shadow singles almost every day. Especially the 2 bottoms ones. I love the cranberry shades during the holiday season.

MAC’s Pro Longwear Pots I use when I am in a hurry. I just dab it all over my eyelids using my finger and I’m good to go. But when I am not in a hurry I usually use this as a base to intensify the color of my eye shadow.

This is long wear and doesn’t crease.

Blush

MAC Sheertone Blush in Tenderling, MAC Powder Blush in Taupe

I rarely use blush. Because most of the time my bronzer is enough. But when I do I have been loving these MAC blushes.

Concealer/Brightening (under eye)

NYX HD Concealer CW 02, NYX HD Concealer in CW11, Revlon Age Defying Concealer, Bourjois Healthy Mix Correcting Concealer

I have a lot of concealers. In fact I have a drawer full of concealers. These 4 concealers have been my go to last year. Especially the NYX HD Concealer in CW11 (blue). It brightens my under eye and it covers my eye bags.

I have been using Bourjois Healthy mix on and off for 2 years already. I discovered this from Liza Eldridge. This is her favorite concealer. This is also good for brightening the under eye area.

I use Revlon Age Defying Concealer to cover my blemishes and my dark spots. This is so thick and creamy. You only need so little but it is full coverage. This is my holy grail for concealers.

Highlighter

NARS Copacabana, MAC Cream Color Base in Luna

I love highlighters. I have highlighters in all forms. Cream highlighters, powder highlighters, etc.

I have been using these 2 a lot last year.

I’ve had NARS Copacabana for a long time already. The first time I used it I didn’t like it that much and I didn’t use it for a long time. I rediscovered it again mid last year and I loved it.

I like that it is silvery shade more than golden. I usually dab it on the highest points of my face and it makes my face looks dewy.

Like NARS Copacabana MAC Luna is also silvery more than golden. You can set this with powder highlighter if you want to intensify it.

Eyebrow Pencil & Eyebrow Gel

Eye of Hörus Ultimate Brow Definer in Nite, L’Oreal Brow Artist Pumper

Ever since I discovered Eye of Hörus Brow Define late last year I haven’t stop using it. This is similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. The only difference is I love this particular shade of Eye of Hörus.

The price point is also the same as Anastasia Beverly Hills.

I use L’Oreal Brow Artist Pumper to set my eye brows.

Eye Primer

Chanel Lift Lumière Eye Contour Concealer, NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base, Bobbi Brown Longwear Eye Shadow Base in Medium

I use eye primer religiously. Some of my friends asked me what eye primer is for. Eye primer is use to avoid creasing in your eyeshadow  and to make your eye shadow last long.

Some eye primers act as concealer like the Chanel Lift Lumière Eye Contour Concealer. It corrects and even out your skin tone of your eye lids at the same time it helps from not creasing your eye shadow.

Koji False Eye Lashes, Duo Brush-On Adhesive

I am one who is not blessed with beautiful eye lashes. As a matter of fact I don’t have eye lashes. When I am in a hurry I just use mascara but if I have the time I use falsies.

I don’t use strip eye lashes. I usually use corner eye lashes. It looks more natural.

I discovered the Koji brand from my friend Roxanne. She loves their eye lash curler. When I went to Hongkong in April last year she asked me to buy her Koji eye lash curler which is available in Sasa.

When I went to Sasa to look for her eye lash curler I discovered their lashes. I got hooked and I hoarded.

But I heard it’s already available here in Manila in any Dolly Wink counters. Altho’ I haven’t check it yet. I will be checking soon ’cause I’m about to run out.

Ever since I started using falsies I always use Duo Adhesive. I have tried other brands but I always go back to Duo. I like it ’cause when it dries it becomes rubbery. And it’s easier to clean.

Putting adhesive to your falsies can be messy sometimes. That’s why when I heard that they recently came out with their brush-on tubes I couldn’t wait to get hold of it. Luckily it was available in Sephora Singapore and I was able to pick up 2 tubes (yay!).

Love it. And like I said it made my life easy.

Andalou Naturals Rose Floral Toner

I mentioned this product in my previous posts and I said this is life changing. And it is.

I either spray this all over my face before applying my make up or after applying my make up.

It’s life changing for me because it made my skin look dewy. I have dry skin and this is so hydrating for my skin.

This is one beauty product that I really love last year and I’m sure this year too.

Rounding up my 2015. I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store.
