A Funny charcoal Grill Story

Like I mentioned the other day I bought charcoal grill in S&R. Vinny has been pestering me to buy one. I don’t know what his plans are this week end but he never stopped bugging me everyday. I had more important things to do so I wasn’t able to go to S&R right away.

Anyway, I was able to finally buy charcoal grill. Not one but two! I found the one that Vinny wanted and I also found a small one for our kitchen counter top! I thought it would come handy to me cause Claudia wants her food always grilled.

This is the charcoal grill Vinny wanted:

And this is the small charcoal I bought for myself:

When I turned to the next aisle, I saw this:

They call it “personal table”. I am going to call it breakfast table! We already have breakfast tables (one i each room) that I bought a year ago, I can’ t remember exactly when. This is one of the things we need in our house. Sometimes the kids eat in their rooms or have breakfast in their rooms that’s why this kind of table is very important to us. And I am sure a lot of you, too! We go thru this kind of tables a lot ever since my kids were small.

This is what we are using now that I bought also in S&R:

Actually I really like this. It’s sturdy and made of wood. We had this more than a year now and it still looks brand new. But the only thing is it’s rather small. For breakfast ok lang. But for lunch or dinner, it is quite small. That’s why when I saw a bigger one in S&R I put it in my cart right away! I bought 4. This new ones that I bought is just slighter bigger than this.

Further down the same aisle, I saw this:

A wooden small ladder! Actually, it’s made of aluminum but parang covered with wood, so it is sturdy! I always have a small ladder in my room cause there are some things in my closet that’s hard to reach cause it’s so high. But what we are using now is made of aluminun and I hate the way it looks. It looks so ugly like the ones they use in construction sites but the small one. And this one! OMG, perfect. I super like it! So, I put this in my cart, too.

Then I went to get some steaks and Claudia’s fruits.

When I checked out and saw my bill, OMG. Para akong bumili ng buong baka!

So, on with my story.

I was so excited to tell Vinny that I was able to buy his charcoal grill already. And I was so excited also to try my small grill. I have never, ever tried using a charcoal grill. So, nagka gulo kami sa kusina. If I use my usual grill it would have taken me 5 minutes tops. But this freaking charcoal grill took us more than 30 minutes!

What took so long was the charcoal. The charcoal I bought in S&R was very hard, thick and comes in tubes (parang tube ice). It wouldn’t freaking burn! We ended grilling the stupid charcoals in the stove and when it burned a little we transferred it to the grill and my girls were making paypay to burn it more.

The thing is I didn’t know how much charcoal to use and I didn’t know how to control the heat. I guess the charcoal we put was konti lang and and it took a long time to cook.

When Vito screamed: Mommmm, I’m so hungry already!” Oh, shit. I always get taranta everytime my kids tell me they’re hungry.

So, I called Clarence, our houseboy, to get an electric fan. Maybe it will help.

I told him: ilapit mo para mas madali!

We all ended laughing and laughing. I had the kind of laugh were you tear up. I decided to take a picture. Before I took his picture I told him: “smile ka para sumikat ka sa Facebook!” and he goes: “sana nga mam.” ย He has hidden plans to become a celebrity.

Ang ending the steak was over cooked and hard.

FAIL.
