Raising a Triathlete

I never in my wildest dream thought that one day I will be a mother of a triathlete.

Claudia started training rigorously for a couple of years now. She started with marathons. Joined all marathons here in Metro Manila. Then early last year she started training for triathlon.

She gave up a lot of things that kids her age will never give up. She gave up night life. She went on a rigid diet. She wakes up everyday at 5:30am to train and on top of that she goes to school plus attend to her cookie business, Claudia’s Cookies.

On my part I learned to cook food that I have never heard of. It is difficult but Claudia makes it easy for me in the sense that I don’t have to think on what to make for her. She gives me her menu for the week.

Tonight she asked me to cook for her Chicken with Tabbouleh. Di ba pwedeng tinolang manok na lang? o di kaya afritadang manok? Actually her food is very easy to make. But it is something I am not used to. Especially the ingredients. Bulgur wheat?

Chicken with Tabbouleh

Last Sunday she joined the Tri United 1 triathlon in Subic and she was the champion in her age group. Yay to that!

My kids will always be my greatest achievement. I must have done something good in my life.
