My kids are very competitive with one another ever since they were small. They always want to out smart one another in everything. I guess I have mentioned that here before.
After living in London for more than a year, Vinny learned how to cook quick meals. And everytime he cooks something he would send pictures in our group in Whatsapp.
He was so proud the first time he cooked his own breakfast.
He cooked also stir fried veggies with shrimps.
and beef with veggies
and his pasta
Vito got challenged and told us he will cook his meals also. I really didn’t take it seriously cos I know it’s quicker for him to eat in their school cafeteria and Vito is fond of eating out. But the other day he called me in Skype.
He told me: “Mom, I cooked pasta. Fettucine alfredo with roasted garlic sauce.” Oh, wow! That sounds yummy! Did you cook it from scratch? He said: “yes!”
Tell me how! “I bought the pasta, boil it and add the sauce.”
What are you talking about? You did not cook it from scratch! You bought ready made sauce!
And then he goes: “ya, I bought the sauce heated it and mix it with my pasta. What’s cooking from scratch?”
Cooking from scratch is when you make your own sauce! “Ohhh, I see. I bought the sauce. But I cook the pasta.”
It’s okay for as long as it’s yummy. “It’s yummy mom, here look!”
Wow, mukhang masarap nga. I’m so proud!
The next day Vinny told me Vito called him and asked him how to cook an egg. So Vinny said: “put butter or oil in the frying pan then cook the egg.” Did you tell him Vinny to break the egg? “No. Understandable na yun mom, he will figure that out.”
We will see.
Yesterday Vito Skyped me and said: “Mom, sayang! you didn’t see me. I cooked fried eggs and salami. It was so sarap!” Really, awwww.
“Ang sarap talaga ng fried eggs. uhmmmm ang sarap!”
Parang ngayon lang nakakain ng fried eggs. I think it was becos he was successful in cooking it.
He broke the egg.
Ang cute talaga ng bebe ko.
